During the inauguration of the ‘Warsaw Home’ International Interior Design Trade Fair in Nadarzyn, Bartłomiej Pawlak, PFR board member, presented a new instrument to support Polish companies in their expansion into foreign markets - the Export Accelerator for the Furniture Industry. This instrument is to help companies reinvigorate their foreign expansion based on tools available within the PFR Group’s offer and cooperation with public institutions. The accelerator is being executed within the scope of the Polish Furniture Flagship Programme coordinated by the Polish Development Fund. The activities are being carried out under the auspices of the Ministry of Enterprise and Technology and the National Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Manufacturers (Ogólnopolska Izba Gospodarcza Producentów Mebli, OIGPM).
Export Accelerator for the Furniture Industry consists of three elements. The first one - New Markets Zone - encompasses training in practical knowledge on tools supporting the development of export offered by PFR Group. It ensures international business contacts thanks to cooperation with a network of PAIH Foreign Trade Offices and participation in industry events and meetings with foreign partners. The second one - Companies’ Zone - guarantees individual support adjusted to the participant’s needs by coordinating the selection of export support tools from PFR’s offer. The third one - Dialog Zone - encompasses cooperation of Accelerator participants with public administration (including the Ministry of Enterprise and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic posts) and experts in order to develop the premises for new solutions aiding the development of export in the furniture industry.
“The Accelerator is addressed at companies who already have the product and trade experience but are seeking a solution for secure their development on foreign markets. One of the features that distinguish PFR’s Accelerator from other instruments is that specific tools are selected individually depending on the company’s actual demand without a need to hold consultations with all the PFR Group entities,” said Bartłomiej Pawlak, PFR board member.
“The Ministry of Enterprise and Technology is currently implementing the Fashion for Export Programme which aims at, among others, popularising active strategies for expansion into foreign markets among Polish enterprises. Our goal is to promote domestic brands and products and strengthen the image of our country and the Polish economy worldwide. Innovative economy cannot exist without foreign expansion. The Export Accelerator for the Furniture Industry is part of the mainstream activities undertaken by the Ministry and the PFR Group is the Ministry’s key partner in execution of its pro-export policy. Undoubtedly, an added value brought in by the PFR Accelerator is the opportunity to design tools supporting the companies’ export processes in cooperation with public administration,” said Jadwiga Emilewicz, the Minister of Enterprise and Technology.
The National Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Manufacturers has granted its patronage over the Accelerator. “The Accelerator opens a new field of cooperation between PFR Group and public administration on the one hand, and furniture manufactures planning expansion on foreign markets, especially in prospective countries outside the EU on the other. Furniture companies expect specific and safe solutions and the Accelerator offers both ready-made products and services as well as the ability to recommend new instruments,” concluded Michał Strzelecki, OIGPM Office Director.
Enrolment for the Export Accelerator for the Furniture Industry will be open for two weeks, from the 12th until the 26th October. The instrument is addressed at companies with a majority share of Polish capital who possess significant production potential and sell an original product under their own brand. Moreover, enterprises who wish to participate in the Accelerator must prepare or be already executing a strategy for foreign expansion. Participation in the programme is free of charge and a single edition is scheduled for a six-month term.
