The internet platform startup.pfr.pl, after over 6 months of operation, already offers nearly 80 programmes of support for start-ups and founders operating in the area of innovation. The platform also features a map of the innovation ecosystem and success stories of companies that have benefited from the offer of the PFR Group.
The portal startup.pfr.pl was launched at the beginning of September 2017. Its purpose is to bring together in one place, and present in a friendly manner, a wide range of offers of development institutions for innovators.
All instruments of support available in the Polish Development Fund, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, Industrial Development Agency, Polish Investment and Trade Agency and Export Credit Insurance Corporation (KUKE) were divided into three stages of business development: Concept, Development and International Expansion. For each of them, the creators of the portal have selected services in the scope of: financing, acceleration, consulting and training, cooperation with large business, or foreign trade fairs or events. In total, the PFR Group prepared nearly 80 programmes for new innovative businesses and individuals. From the day the portal was launched, the offer has increased by 40 programmes.
The platform also features a unique map of the innovation ecosystem in Poland with approximately 180 entities and institutions supporting innovators, such as accelerators, technology transfer centres, technology parks or business incubators. In addition, a section dedicated to the stories of the companies which used the instruments offered by the PFR Group is being expanded.
“The market provides a whole variety of tools to support young innovative companies in terms of finance, education and consulting. We know from entrepreneurs that there is a need to organise and personalise the offer and create one place of integration and contact for young entrepreneurs. The portal includes, among others, a user-friendly search engine. Regardless of whether the company seeking support is in the phase of the concept and needs a verification of the marketability of the product, seeks an investor or other sources of funding, or is considering expansion into foreign markets - at startup.pfr.pl it will find useful and up-to-date information” - says Eliza Kruczkowska, Director of the Department for the Development of Innovation, the Polish Development Fund.
According to the website statistics, the most popular are the following: the programme “Good Idea” addressed to individuals having an idea for an innovative solution, the programme “Supporting your start” for persons who want to set up a business and “Loans for innovative companies”. The portal has already recorded almost 200,000 hits, mainly from Poland.
The authors of the portal regularly add new content to it. There are two upcoming projects: an educational project addressed at individuals and a mentoring projects for startups. The portal will also offer an option to register and receive notifications of newly opened programmes, and as well as their recruitment dates and methods of application.
The Portal is available in full in both Polish and English. The entity responsible for its preparation is the Department for the Development of Innovation at the Polish Development Fund, which coordinates cooperation with the development institutions within the Group.
